Here's Erin and me this week when we went skiing in Whistler, BC. We had a great trip and I'm definetely not ready to go back to school on Monday!! We skied Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Tuesday was the best - on the other days it was either really cloudy or snowing/raining. Neither of us had ever been spring skiing, so that was a little different since it was more like skiing in slush than in snow. Our hotel room also came with a hot tub, so we had a great time relaxing after a long day of skiing. We ended up spending less than 24 hours in Vancouver on our way back because Erin had to get back to Seattle for swim practice, but we got to walk around downtown a bit, which was fun.

School has been doing well - 2 months left (I can't decide if that seems like a long or a short time.) I've gotten 3 new kids in the last month, so that always keeps me busy and the class a bit crazy. The next 2 weeks we are going to be doing the WASL testing (the Washington state assessment.) It's a pretty big deal at our school because we have some funding that depends on how well we score. Of course my kids never really pass since they are ELL and are taking English tests - somehow that doesn't seem quite fair. So, the next two weeks are a little low key since the kids are testing most of the day.

Hope everyone has a great Easter!!

love the picture! And, you may have told me this before, but what does ELL stand for? Is this what most people are using instead of ESL??

yeah...it used to be ESL, but then people decided that wasn't PC because it might not be the kid's second language, it might be their 3rd or 4th, so they changed it to ELL (English Language Learners) :)

Wow!! The mountains are beautiful! I'm in Oregon right now actually and I just got back from camping in the mountains. (see the blog for more info). I'm in Salem, so how far is that from you? about 5 hours?

I called Maria, but she wasn't there. You can feel free to get mine from any of our friends too. I'd love to meet up with you - especially since you might be nearby! Did you mean this weekend or next?
